Chef Toni Boban's take on Split classics, open since March 2024.
k.užina opened on March 1, 2024, on Kraj Svete Marije near the fish market, under chef Toni Boban. The name plays on kužina, the Dalmatian word for kitchen, and the cooking leans into that: cold plates like beef carpaccio, sea bass with peppers, the kind of food built for sharing across a table rather than one plate per person.
It runs lunch and dinner daily except Sundays, and also handles breakfast for guests of the neighboring Hotel Heritage Piazza, which puts it on the busier end of that stretch of street from early morning through last orders.

Food was good, but for the price i'd expect much better. We had the ribeye and a seafood pasta for around 80€, which should indicate top level food. The medium-rare steak was cooked to perfektion but under-salted and the small amount of sides was ok but bland. We ended the dinner with a very roughly cut cheese plate with 3 hard cheeses served dressed like a melon salad. We didn't got fig jam, as the menu said. After we mentioned it we got a tomato jam thet was fine. The restaurant was very loud and the acoustic was bad. Guess the terrace was better. The most expensive meal we had in three weeks in Croatia, but avarage quality.

Fantastic dinner experience! We were 4 adults and 4 children, and everyone loved the food. The kids had buttered pasta and ribeye steak, and they absolutely loved both. The mustard and raspberry sauce served with the steak was out of this world. The adults started with swordfish and St. Jacques, followed by the shrimp risotto as the main course. Everything was absolutely incredible. We also had the fig and the lemon deserts. Service was also fantastic! We really loved this place. Congratulations to the whole team!

I’d give a 4.5 if I could: + the wine recommendation was very good + the carpaccio, the amberjack and the desert were delicious - the duck was overcooked - the tartar would go better with something crunchy instead of these soft potato waffles

Amazing dinner. Did everything seafood. Swordfish Ceviche and the Amberjack & Lemon stood out as some of the best dishes we've ever had! Service was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and had a real passion for the food. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience. Food was amazing. We had the tasting menu and wine pairing. Our server Mate was amazing. Very tentative and funny. He handled my cheekiness well. Zoran was fabulous too. Can’t recommend Kuzina enough. Enjoy.
