Jalsa opened on Ved Stranden in January 2026, serving North Indian classics built around streetfood elements rather than a formal thali format. Dishes are meant to be shared across the table, comfort food more than fine dining.

It's one of the newer additions to a stretch of Ved Stranden that has filled in fast over the past two years, sitting a few doors down from Menendez and Restaurant Applaus.

Good service, but the food was disappointing. The portions were very small, and the biryani didn't taste like biryani at all. Expected much better in terms of both quality and quantity.

It was a really good experience. The place was crowded but not noisy. Good lighting and decoration. Food was tasty. They took some time to serve or main dish and were serving people who came after us first but at the end they apologized for the delay and it was fine. I certainly recommend

This place saved us more than once when we could not food we liked in Aalborg. Food was flavorsome, service was attentive and the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated.

I was traveling for work and only spent one night in Aalborg, I was dying for a curry. By the way I’ve been in Denmark 🇩🇰 for two weeks already but south. Tried a few (2) places before and was totally disappointed! But this was next level, flavoursome, nicely spiced and I’d go as far to say it’s up there with the best!! I’m from uk 🇬🇧 and we love our Indian food. I’m a foodie and it takes a lot for me to take the effort to write a review…But…Seriously, it was delicious.. I ordered onion Bhaj, papadums with dip, Kashmiri naan (sweet) and a chicken Karachi. Couldn’t fault a thing, service was attentive and friendly and if I’m ever back in the area again… I’ll be back in a heartbeat . Thank you for a wonderful meal 🙏

The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is nice, beautiful interior designs. However, the food is overpriced. If you order a curry, it doesn’t come with rice, rice has to be ordered separately and costs 38 DKK a portion. In addition, the chef’s special curry I ordered was too salty, and the strawberry lassi was overwhelmingly sweet.
