Smørrebrød at lunch, four courses of modern Danish after dark
Restaurant Brix opened on C. W. Obels Plads on March 3, 2026, run by Danny and Ninna Friis Petersen. Lunch here means a buffet and smørrebrød, the open sandwiches that carry most Danish midday menus.
By evening the kitchen shifts gears: the same Danish staples get a four-course, more technical treatment, so the room feels like two different restaurants depending on the hour.

Ambience is amazing in this old building. The staff are nice and welcoming. Such a nice dining experience. The restaurant has wisely chosen to have a menu with few dishes - but they make everything to perfection. Danish cuisine and amazing quality. Even the bread was homemade. The menu includes something for everyone; even a steak and also a huge burger made with the best ingredients. The wine menu is huge and prices range from low to high; there is really something for everyone. We also tried their cocktails and spritz. Also great and fairly priced. Outdoor seating and serving on the old square is amazing in the summer time. Usually there is a large sandbox for the kids to play in during the summer. During winter the same square transforms into an outdoor ice skating rink - so I imagine it is also nice to sit and have a coffee and watch people skate during the winter months. Bonus is the restaurant is really close to city center with busses, shopping and the Christmas market is next door. I really recommend this place.

Amazing place, perfect service, incredible food. A big warm thanks to owner and his sunshine ☀️ daughter. You made us feel comfy and very welcome today. Our dog Charly loved the Frikadelle.

We had Shooting Stars for lunch with a Hype deal. Everything was fine upon arrival and we got a table outside in the summer heat ☀️ we chose the shade because it was a hot day. We bought two glasses of wine. Both sauvignon blanc. One with alcohol and one without. We asked if the non-alcoholic one was very sweet and were told it was fresh. It wasn't. But it was the only non-alcoholic wine by the glass, so we got more ice cubes and that was fine. We waited a bit for the food, but the square is cozy, so that was fine too. When the food came we were positively surprised by the shrimp! They were really delicious 🦐 on the other hand, asparagus was missing from both plates. One plate had some and the other none. Even though they themselves have highlighted the asparagus as something special about their Shooting Stars in the offer. We tried to get in touch with the waiter, but it was busy, so we gave up and ate it as it was. The food was good; The fish was crispy, the salmon was very smoky (but that's a matter of taste), the shrimp were top notch. Just the last thing is missing for more stars.
