Tables in the sand, mojitos made with local fruit

Mojito Bar sits right on the waterline on Cabarete Beach. The menu covers sandwiches and Dominican plates alongside the mojitos the name promises, made with local fruit rather than bottled mix.

It's one of the busiest lunch stops on the beach on weekends, which slows service between noon and 2pm. Go earlier or later if a table matters more than the wait.

I have always enjoyed the atmosphere, excellent food and staff at Mojitos. Either sitting outside looking at the beach and ocean, or inside watching a sport on the large monitors. However, Yesterday June 26th, 2026 I was with a 78 year old friend visiting from Canada and when we left after a very pleasant afternoon, as we were walking about 200 feet away on the sidewalk, the manager came running up and told us that they found my friends wallet. I left my friend on the sidewalk to go back and find a lovely young waitress showing me the wallet and its contents were all intact. Then she actually tried to refuse a small tip, which I would NOT allow. It warms my heart to know that there are still honest people who actually care. THANK YOU so VERY MUCH to the staff and management.

One of the best atmospheres on the strip. It's one of the busiest locations, and they have great service. The food was ok, the drinks were slightly better. We tried all the mofongos and all the sauces. The cream sauce wasn't bad, but the shrimp had a string seafood taste (not spoiled). The 4 golpes did not has the traditional fried cheese, so it was disappointing. The butter sauce was ok. The chicken was chunks of chicken, was good and the salsa criolla was not very popular, but delicious (in my opinion best out of the three sauces) The pork chuck were seasoned well but not great and the tostones were thin, very good. I would recommend this place for drinks and a bite.

If you like piña colada! And getting caught in the rain 🎶❤️😍🥵 Felipe and Rosa's MINDBLOWING Piña Colada review tour of Cabarete Note: Rosa does not approve the amount of emojis used Mojito bar is a nice little cocktail bar on the beach walk of Cabarete. It has soft green chair pillows and tables on the beach like many of the other places here. Their happy hour starts at 4pm, so even though by walking west on the seashore it was the first bar we reached, it ended up being the second one we tried because we started our impromptu piña colada rating extravaganza a little after 3pm. The staff was friendly, even though a bit startled at the mentioning of our benign little challenge. We met a nice man from New Jersey that mentioned this is called "bar hopping". That was the term! He also said this is the best happy hour in town. We shall see. We decided we would rate each place out of 10, based on price, environment, staff, presentation and of course taste. Note, we can ONLY speak of the piña colada. • Presentation 💅💅💅💅: 4. Not very impressive. Cup has the little green logo on it, though. • Environment and staff 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴: 5. Staff seemed friendly, not particularly generous or nice. Normal. • Price 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑: 5. 450 pesos for two piña coladas (two for one, taxes included) is pretty ok, still higher than previous bar we tried. Cash only. • Taste 👅 👅 👅 👅👅👅👅: 7. Sweet enough, could taste both the coconut and the piña. Maybe a bit too much rum, but overall balanced.

The food was so good that we went two days in a row. The service was a bit spotty, but the food definitely made up for it. We loved everything that we ate. Lobster, wings, fish fingers, shrimp, and rice were all delicious.
