Specialty coffee and homemade bakes on the Peterswerder
Lia Laukant took over this Peterswerder corner from Juli liebt Kaffee after it closed in December 2025, soft-opening Café Palia on 15 January 2026 with her husband Pascal Laukant-Voigt behind the counter. The menu stays small: specialty coffee, a short bread-and-bowl breakfast, and cake made in-house, sourced regional, organic and plant-based wherever the kitchen can manage it.
From spring on, a small events programme kicks in, including a recurring Paint & Wine evening and the neighbourhood's long-running PM Coffee Club meet-ups.

We recently visited Café Palia and came back absolutely delighted! Breakfast was truly delicious – we especially loved the homemade bread, which was wonderfully fresh and aromatic. The fresh, high-quality fruit and vegetables were also clearly evident. You can tell immediately that they pay attention to using good ingredients. The coffee was excellent, too! If you have a sweet tooth, you absolutely must try the cakes – truly excellent and made with obvious care. The atmosphere is friendly, bright, and inviting; you immediately feel at ease. We would particularly like to commend the service: The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and courteous, taking their time for us and accommodating our every request. We felt exceptionally well cared for from the very first moment. All in all, a truly wonderful visit – the food, coffee, ambiance, and service all came together perfectly. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best cappuccino in Bremen! Food was amazing, I am a carnivore, so I was a little skeptical of the tuna alternative. However, I loved it! If I didn’t know better I would say it was the real thing. The taste combinations are thoughtfully crafted. I highly recommend the “como” or the “Copenhagen”. Came for coffee stayed for the cake…also yummy!!!
