Café Vinyl

★ 4.5 · 38 reviews Bremen Opened 22 August 2025

Vinyl records and specialty coffee, played loud on Am Wall.

Café Vinyl opened on Am Wall on August 22, 2025. Christian León and José León Henkle handle the food and design side, Henryk Lorenz curates the music and sound system, and Jaqueline Peters runs projects and outreach. The idea borrows from Japan's listening cafés: quiet corners where you spin your own records or ones from the shelf through speakers or headphones, plus a mezzanine stocked with turntables and DJ gear for anyone who wants to play.

The coffee is "Don León," grown on the founders' family plantation in Guatemala and served with cake and snacks. Menus come printed on old 45 sleeves, and the front door is cut into the shape of a record, a first hint of what's inside.

I subscribed to the "newsletter" and a few minutes later received the schedule for last month's events in June. More like an "old letter." Just kidding. But the cappuccino is really excellent! I can't comment on the food yet, as I haven't eaten anything. The cake looks delicious though... Very cozy atmosphere.

    Cozy Coffee

Neurodivergent and you need a quiet retreat? Absolutely recommended! (Especially on a Sunday!) I can confirm that the coffee is more expensive than average; but you can tell it's from family farms and of high quality. The affogato was fantastic: strong, aromatic with a great crema and delicious ice cream. The almond cookies were also divine. You didn't feel rushed, like in other busy places; no one was watching the clock to make sure you vacated your table after 120 minutes or frantically ordering more. Quite the opposite; if you need a break from the daily grind, this café is the place to do it. And for our Enby people: the restrooms are divided into squat and sit-down toilets. :>

A relaxed cafe (day) and bar (evenings) that functions both as a relaxed coffee/chat location aswell as a place to listen to music, performances and music. Interesting decor, comfortable and varied seating makes this location one to savour.

It's a very nice café. We sat there quite comfortably over the weekend. There were basically two groups: one group was knitting, and the other, I think, was crocheting. Then there was a group of young people playing chess at a table. Someone was working at another table. Overall, the atmosphere was very idyllic. The service is very relaxed. However, you sometimes have to wait half an hour, or even 40 minutes, for your order—or even for anyone to come at all. The prices are expensive because, as I understand it, the coffee comes from South America and is of good quality. It tastes good, too, but it's not cheap. I agree.
