Butschern Bar
★ 4.1 · 48 reviews Bremen Opened 21 December 2024
A no-fuss corner bar with a basement built for culture
Oliver Trey, who also runs Little Butcher and the café Ihretwegen, opened Butschern at the Sielwall corner on 21 December 2024. The spot had cycled through short-lived tenants and noise complaints for years, so this fit-out includes acoustic work aimed straight at that history. "Butschern" is Low German for something like "go out and do something," and Trey kept the menu simple: five beers on tap, spirits, long drinks and a small wine list.
The ground floor seats 90. Downstairs, another 50 seats are set aside for quizzes, karaoke, Werder Bremen match screenings and concerts, with the door open to outside artists and organizers pitching their own nights.

Nice bar. They have events every day. I recommend you to go there.

Prices aren't cheap, but still okay (for beer), in my opinion. Service is a bit slow but they try their best (maybe more bartenders would be better in such a large place). And there are a lot of yuppies here (but hey, gentrification in the neighborhood and all that).

We love coming to this pub every time we visit Bremen because the owner and his staff are very attentive and welcoming. After an unjustified verbal attack from another guest, the staff immediately intervened and ensured our safety. We felt very comfortable. The music in the bar was also excellent, which created a great atmosphere.
