Shop, café, listening bar and neo-brasserie, one room at Karlstor

One room, five things going on: a neo-brasserie, a listening bar with a DJ booth, a café, an art programme and a shop floor you can actually browse. That retail layer is why this counts as more than a place to eat.

It fills the old Karstadt Sports space in the Herzog Max building, ground floor glass kept intact so you can read the whole room from the street. This end of the pedestrian zone empties out early most nights. This one keeps going after seven.

Good to know

• It runs from lunch through to late, the store and the bar keep different hours to the kitchen.
