Bird: live music venue atmosphere

Bird

★ 4.8 · 140 reviews Reykjavik Opened July 2024

A dozen beers on tap, no cocktail menu, and karaoke in the basement

Skip the cocktail list. Bird is the plain-spoken answer to downtown Reykjavík's craft-cocktail wave, a dozen beers rotating on tap and a kitchen that keeps sending out sandwiches named after metal legends until close.

Downstairs, a karaoke room turns the tavern into a late-night destination once the mics come on. Good for a solid pint and a kitchen still open when you want one, not a fussy drinks list.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and attentive; it’s really special when you go on these and the guide is an actual marine biologist. We saw thousands of puffins, check-in was seamless, and things ran on time. Received photos taken by the guide the next morning. Just wish it was a bit longer.

I absolutely adored our puffin watching trip with the delightful Maja, and my son ended up enjoying himself too, despite initially being grumpy about getting up early for it. It is hard not to be happy watching the antics of these amazing birds. We got close without feeling like we were disturbing the birds. The tour was well-run, and it was worth it to take the RIB to be closer to the water. Wholeheartedly recommend this tour!

Had so much fun on this adventure!! We were given all of the gear needed to keep us safe and warm which was honestly the "hardest" part of the whole experience haha. Once we were all geared up, we got onto the boats and were off to see all puffins (and other birds too)! Our guide Matteo was so knowledgable and we saw hundreds of puffins on the island and on the water and flying all around us! We also saw lots of other birds people were excited to see (though, we were puffin-track-minded). And as a free plus, our guide had a zoom lens and shared with us all the photos he took during our excursion together too! Would definitely recommend to anyone swinging by the area!

We really enjoyed our puffins and whale tour on 06/19/2026 with captain Emily and marine biologist Ricardo. We were fortunate to see some humpback whales and even had a young one show off. Only wish we would have been able to spend a little more time by the puffin island, that stop was a little quick for my taste. Tour was definitely worth its money and we had a great group on our RIB boat.

Wonderful experience - really short trip here to see the Puffins. Definite highlight is that the guide brought a professional camera with us and took really great quality puffin photos that are shared at the end for free! Wish all the tours had that nice touch.
