A coffeehouse and gallery inside a valley, not downtown
Forget the city center. This one sits by Elliðaárstöð, the decommissioned power station in Elliðaárdalur valley, where the windows look out on a playground instead of a street. It's from Stefán Melsted, the guy behind Snaps and Kastrup, taking his café-restaurant formula somewhere greener.
The menu stays simple: avocado toast, soup, cake, coffee. Local artwork rotates through the walls, so the room changes even when the menu doesn't.

A lovely place to sit and enjoy a delicious coffee with a slice of chocolate cake or Parmesan, surrounded by trees and a tranquil atmosphere punctuated by the sound of birds.

The coffee range on offer is what is expected, nothing fancy as was the price. If seated outside the beverages are served in paper cups. The outside settings is tranquil and a close on hand is a small river to gaze at while inside is a Scandianian minimalist feel. My only dissatisfaction was that is closes so early and would liked to have spent the evening here.

A wonderful place that would improve the atmosphere considerably with quieter, more pleasant music at the counter. I see this cafe as a place to relax, not to be in a rush.

Is it the best Coffee, no. Is it the best cake, no. Is it the best service, no. But... The location makes it all worth it. Feels like your out of the city, good playground, fun area, great walking path all around you and nature.
