Rumour: attractive bar interior atmosphere

Rumour

★ 4.6 · 22 reviews Delhi Opened 2026

45 seats, hidden door, wine in everything

Find the hidden entrance in Vasant Vihar and you're in a New York loft: low light, big sofas, shelves stacked with books and objects. The Charcoal Project designed it to open up as the night goes.

Wine anchors the list and the cocktails, with a focus on small family-run vineyards. The Vineyard Picante mixes tequila with rose and clarified green grape oleo; the Winemaker's Espresso runs on grape reduction and cocoa-nib-fat-washed vodka. Food plays backup: hot honey brie crisp, zucchini fries, Nashville fried chicken.

Great Ambience, Good Food & Wonderful Hospitality Rumour in Vasant Vihar is a lovely place with an awesome ambience and a great overall vibe. The food was good, the wines were enjoyable, and the staff was extremely kind, warm and courteous. The only disappointment was the portion sizes. They were very, very small, especially for a table of six. The chef really needs to have a better judgement of how much food is required for a larger table. We actually felt hungry even after coming back home! Apart from the portions, everything else was really good—the food, wine, ambience and hospitality. With more generous portions, Rumour could be an even better dining experience. All the best to the team!

An outstanding experience at Rumour Speakeasy Bar! The food is creative, beautifully executed, and full of flavour, while the cocktail menu is eclectic, innovative, and expertly crafted. What truly elevates the experience is the impeccable service—the staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and their recommendations are spot on. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food, exceptional cocktails, and warm hospitality.

We were a group of 15 people who visited on Saturday. Overall, we had a good experience—the ambience, food and drinks were all great. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the way one item on the bill was handled. We ordered over 10 Picantes, which are listed on the menu at ~₹975. While taking the order, the server asked if we'd like Don Julio instead. It was presented as a simple choice, and at no point were we told that selecting Don Julio would increase the price of each cocktail to over ₹2,000 (before tax). When we questioned the bill, we were told (in a rather condescending tone) that Don Julio costs around ₹1,100 for a 60 ml pour, which is why the cocktail was charged at that price. However, that pricing logic didn't really make sense, as the standard Picante would then imply a tequila price that doesn't even exist on the menu. The bigger issue isn't paying more for a premium spirit—we're happy to do that. The issue is transparency. If choosing a different tequila changes the cocktail price so drastically, it shouldn't be presented as a casual swap. Either the menu should clearly show the pricing for different tequila options, or the server should explicitly tell customers the revised price before the order is placed. It's a change that would prevent misunderstandings and make for a much better customer experience. Other places within the same complex show different prices based on different spirits being used.
