Progressive Indian, cooked over open fire, five rooms deep
Everything here goes over charcoal or wood, so the flavors are familiar but take a moment to place. The restaurant runs across five sections: an entrance modeled on the Ajanta and Ellora caves with carvings that took seven months to finish, a bar with a tiger-skin countertop, the Golden Mirror Room, a Sheesh Mahal with thikri walls, and a blue-and-white den modeled on Chhavi Niwas.
Start with the Primitive Chakhna: ajwain mathri with pineapple chutney cut with mirchi ke tipore, the instant chilli pickle every halwai in the walled city serves. The Masala Chai Old Fashioned comes with a floating cookie. The eleven-course tasting menu opens onto the leopard-wallpapered private room.

Must confess, I came to Native and Primitive with absolutely no expectations. But I walked out with my mind still trying to figure out if this was really Jaipur. The young couple, Simran and Karan, are here to give Jaipur the kind of gastronomical experience that makes you not want to look outside the city. You can actually feel their passion. They want to give their city the experience it truly deserves, something beyond the usual. And that's exactly where Native's cocktails and Primitive's food come in. I was majorly impressed with the interiors at Primitive. Every dining space has its own theme, colours, and vibe, making the whole experience feel so thoughtfully put together. Karan has curated some kick-ass cocktails and I absolutely loved everything about them, from the names to the presentation. The creativity behind every drink deserves a big cheers!i For me, the food at Primitive was the real masterpiece. I have always loved the flavours that come from open-fire cooking and here it is the local ingredients and regional flavours that truly play the main character. Almost every dish gave me one of those "wow" moments. We started with the Bheja Tart, Raj Kachori, Beetroot Walnut Khatai, Jimikand ke Sule and Aaloo Wadi Kachori and every dish had its own personality. But the Duck Kachori... that was an absolute "Oh my God!" moment for me. The Caramelised Goat Neck Rotolo Pasta was another favourite, while the Laal Maas with Koji-Fermented Mathania Hot Sauce completely won me over with its smoky notes. It honestly made me wonder why we don't see more chefs embracing open-fire cooking. The Pomfret with Methi Saag finished with Dahi Sauce was beautifully balanced, the Pepper Chicken made the South Indian in me so happy and the Achari Chicken Liver, garnished with crispy chicken skin and onion gel, was another dish I couldn't stop talking about. This menu is curated by Chef Mobin Farooqui. Deserts time and My most favourite were the Badam Katli and Kaju Katli Macaron, it was such a creative twist on a classic. And they say when you have people who understand food dining with you it's always special thank you

Incredible restaurant, delicious food, awesome service and ambiance. Perfect for a special occasion. The food is very creative, extremely well-done, and a wonderful culinary experience. I went there my family on my birthday, ordered their Primitive Chakhna with cocktails, 3 starters, main course, and dessert. The veg dishes were very creative. The meat was OUT OF THIS WORLD. A big focus on open coal cooking and smoky flavors. I studied Culinary Arts from Pune and I was very impressed to try this restaurant in Jaipur. It's one of a kind here, and an amazing experience for those with a discerning palette.

Peacock Premiere is an awesome place! Sahil served us and his recommendations were spot on. We started with the Raj Kachori which was delicious. For mains, the Cauliflower Korba with Bakarani was on point loved that it was charred in the tandoor and not cooked on direct heat. The chef did a really good job with the food. The bartender deserves credit too the Alphonse cocktail and coconut mocktail were both excellent. Great food, drinks, and service. Highly recommend!

We had a very nice experience at this Indian fine dining restaurant. The ambiance is elegant and thoughtfully designed, although it felt a bit darker than we expected. The service was really good throughout the evening. One of the highlights was that the chef personally came out with each dish to explain the ingredients and inspiration, which are based on different regions of India. He also took the time to ask for feedback on how the restaurant could improve, which was a very nice and personal touch. The food itself was good, with interesting flavors and a clear focus on regional ingredients. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that there were two brief power outages during dinner. They didn’t last long (around a minute each), but they did slightly affect the overall experience.

Great food and service. I’ve tried many tasting menu experiences across cities like New York, Singapore, and Paris, and this was one of the better ones I’ve had. The dishes used familiar flavors but had innovative concepts. Service was great and Mr. Hirosh took good care of us. Would recommend this to anyone who is interested in trying a different take on traditional Indian food.
