Ethiopian coffee lore meets Makassar, relaunched July 2025

Kaldi House reopened on Jalan Gunung Bambapuang on July 16, 2025, under founder Indah Sukawati. The interior runs on an Ethiopian theme: earthy tones, warm lighting, and seating built for lingering through an afternoon, not just grabbing a quick cup. Local press called the relaunch a lift for the neighborhood's small creative economy, part of a newer wave of cafes opening nearby.

The name comes from Kaldi, the goat herder credited in legend with discovering coffee in Ethiopia, and the menu follows that thread with East African-leaning brews alongside standard Indonesian espresso drinks. Open daily, 10am to 10pm.
