Showa-era tableware pulled from empty houses, cleaned and resold

Everything on these shelves once sat in kitchens left empty or damaged by the Noto earthquake. Lacquerware, Kutani ware, festival pieces, plain everyday plates, all cleaned up and put back into circulation on Shintatemachi shopping street, next to Espresso Bar Kesaran Pasaran.

Stock depends on whatever the latest clearance turned up, so no two visits look the same. Prices run well below what the same pieces would fetch at an antique dealer. This is the project's second Kanazawa spot after Suzu on the Noto peninsula.

Good to know

• Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays; open 10:00 to 17:00.
• Stock turns over constantly, nothing here is reordered.
