Handmade vessels built to outlast the season

Higurashi used to mean a deliberate drive up to the hot-spring village of Yuwa-machi, east of Kanazawa. Now it's a short walk from Oyama Shrine, next door to the Parii-in hair salon on Oyama-machi.

The move changed the address, not the stock. Every piece here is handmade and chosen to be used for a lifetime, not swapped out when the season turns. It's open Thursday to Saturday, and the owner will unlock the door outside those hours if you call ahead.

Good to know

• Open Thursday to Saturday only, 11:00 to 17:00, with the occasional Sunday.
• Call ahead and the owner will open outside those hours.
