Shimokitazawa's vintage institution lands in Tatemachi

BIG TIME has been sifting through vintage racks in Shimokitazawa for decades. Now it's opened its first Kanazawa shop, in a former bridal store on the ground floor of the Talk Tatemachi building. Stock comes straight from the US and Europe, men's and women's side by side.

Tatemachi street keeps pulling in vintage shops, and a Tokyo name setting up here says a lot about where the street's heading. Doors stay open until 21:00, later than most neighbors.

If you’re into traditional men’s wear this is one of the best stores in Kanazawa without question. The wide selection and the value cannot be matched.

I had plans to go to the Korinbo area for the first time in a while, so I went with my daughter. There were several second-hand clothing stores nearby, but they all seemed expensive and intimidating to enter... This was the only store that seemed casual enough to walk into. They had a wide selection of items, and a variety of clothing styles. It's rare to find a second-hand clothing store where both I, in my late 40s, and my high school daughter, can spend a long time browsing every nook and cranny! The prices weren't too high or too low, and there were plenty of T-shirts and sweatshirts with interesting patterns! I had a hard time deciding what to buy. This area changes a lot if you don't visit for a while, but I hope this store never disappears!!

A specialty clothing store mostly Western related clothing and accessory but not limited by! If you willing to spend some time going through this highly packed racks over racks of clothing and stuff, you may score some great stuff. But the price is bit high, I believe it’s due to the location. I was able to get myself a shirt for 3900 JPY plus tax.

The spacious store had men's and women's clothing, accessories, bags, and shoes neatly arranged, and there was absolutely no unpleasant vintage smell. Everything is unique, making it feel like a treasure hunt. The young staff at this modern store were polite and courteous, making for a very pleasant experience. However, I learned that exchanges and returns are not accepted, so I think it's best to carefully inspect items for stains, dirt, tears, and check buttons and zippers before purchasing.
