Shchuka
Almaty Opened June 2025
A pike-shaped bistro near upper Mega mall
The centerpiece says it all: a Chagall riff with a pike floating over rooftops instead of the usual lovers. Shchuka means pike in Russian, and the open kitchen lets you watch the herring under a fur coat come together before it hits your table.
The menu digs into Soviet and post-Soviet comfort food, the soundtrack swings from 1980s film scores to Russian pop, and regulars leave flowers and books on the shelves. Tucked into the 4YOU complex on Radostovets Street, a short walk from Mega's upper branch.
