Latvian cooking rebuilt from Latvian produce only
Every ingredient here comes from a Latvian farm, no exceptions. It's a rule most kitchens would call unworkable, but Juusu makes it the whole point on Alberta iela, the most photographed Art Nouveau street in Riga.
Dishes look traditional but eat contemporary, built for sharing rather than plated like museum pieces. Kitchen's closed Mondays. Tourists get the honest version of Latvian food, locals get the version they forgot they liked.

Had a brilliant meal here and couldn’t fault a thing. We ordered a selection of small plates to share, and every dish was full of flavour. The crispy chickpeas were surprisingly one of my favourites—crispy, smoky, and packed with flavour. The pork wrapped in cabbage was another standout, with tender, flavourful pork wrapped in soft cabbage and finished with a delicious crispy topping that added great texture. The roasted vegetables were cooked perfectly with a lovely char and fresh herbs, while the pork belly was incredibly tender and paired really well with the pickled onions and mustard, which balanced the richness perfectly. The anchovy bites were also a highlight. The creamy topping, crunchy bread, and salty anchovies made for a really tasty combination. The food was beautifully presented, the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you want to order a bit of everything and share it around the table. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommended.

Modern and cozy atmosphere. Interior is beautifully crafted with contrasting yet complimentary natural materials and textures. Food was delicious. We had the seasonal mushroom soup, sprat, barley blood sausage, and cabbage roll. Perfect spot for a late lunch.

Amazing experience. The food was outstanding, and we loved the small plates because they let us try lots of different things. Every plate was delicious! They were also very accommodating for vegetarians, with plenty of options and a willingness to adapt dishes. The grey peas without bacon, for example, were delicious. Highly recommend!

Lovely service and wonderfully delicious Latvian food! Highly recommend the cold beetroot soup as a refreshing snack for the summer
