All-day café with its own bakery in the Sluishuis on IJburg
The Sluishuis is the most photographed building on IJburg, and it stood without a café for three and a half years. Écluse, French for lock, changed that in January 2026, on the Steigereiland side with a terrace on the jetty and the IJ right in front of you.
Weekdays bring breakfast, coffee and lunch, with bread from its own bakery. From Thursday to Sunday the kitchen stays open for a refined dinner, and the bar pours wine and cocktails all week. Worth the cycle out even if you don't live there.

A friend of mine invited me here for a late breakfast and have to say “what a surprise!”. The location itself is well designed and cozy, food and drinks are tasty and well presented! Staff is attentive and kind!

PLACE YOU MUST GO TO: From the moment you walk in, you immediately feel that this is a very special place. The restaurant is beautifully and tastefully designed, with an incredible eye for detail. Every corner feels elegant, warm, and thoughtfully curated, a truly unique and charming part of Amsterdam where everything comes together perfectly. The service was welcoming and attentive, and the food was good. You can feel the passion and care in every aspect of the experience. An absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates refined dining, stylish interiors, and a memorable atmosphere.
