Coffee, matcha and stuffed croissants in Hoograven

Hoograven had no reason to send you south of the Vaartsche Rijn for coffee until Tinto turned up on the Aquamarijnlaan. Filled croissants, matcha, pastries and a short lunch card, from eight in the morning.

It's a neighbourhood room rather than a destination, which is what makes it good. Come on a weekday morning and the corner table by the window is usually still free.

Been here twice. Coffee is fantastic, pastries are good. Pastries seem to not be hand made on site, so the price feels a bit steep. (Seems like bake off on site.) The interior looks very lovely. When we were in, it was very full though, and because of the size/interior design it gets very loud. I wouldn't be able to sit and talk comfortably if its that busy. Over all, great new addition and I will be back (but probably outside:)) Edit: It may be nice to make to prioritise the go coffees in making compared to the seated coffees? I was waiting for quite a while because all the coffees were made in chronological order.

If you're looking for outstanding coffee, this is not the place to go. It is a neighborhood shop serving drinks that are nothing special, frozen pastries, strangely loud club-like music, and trendy decor that feels more designed for taking photos than anything else. Not worth traveling to, but good if you're in the area and just want a quick coffee.
