French bistro plates, La Factoría's cocktail brain
Chef Luis Castillo, also behind La Factoría, runs this French bistro rewired with Puerto Rican flavors. Oysters, steak frites, burgers and a chicken empanada all share the menu with author cocktails.
It sits steps from La Factoría on San Sebastián, which makes it the obvious first stop before that crawl gets loud. Grab oysters and a cocktail early.

This place is a hidden gem and bound for success. You can see, taste, and feel the effort that went into the tapas, drinks, and decor. We found it a bit tough to find and walked past the door an embarrassing number of times before finally finding it (Early May 2026)hopefully they’ve added some external indicator of it being Cui Cui. The staff were exceptional, so welcoming, professional, and attentive. We spent a solid 2 hours and probably would’ve hung out longer but the AC made it pretty cold in sleeveless clothing. (Bring a lite jacket or layer if you are sensitive to a crisp room like I am). 10/10 experience it is a MUST when in Viejo San Juan. Ps. Reservations HIGHLY encouraged

One of the most buzzing and hidden gems of VSJ! Make sure to get your reservation ahead of time. Highly recommend ordering the smaller plates over the main ones. Favorites include the foie tostada, piquillo peppers, beef carpaccio and the tuna nest! Their cocktail offerings are also 10/10 as they’re the same owners as La Factoría.

Amazing service with great aesthetic at the bar. Servers very attentive. The chicken cutlet was to die for and the burger gets the job done. Incredible dirty gin martini, the other cocktails run on the sweet side. Would definitely visit again.

Cui Cui deserves Michelin stars ⭐ We love traveling and trying new food. We barely come back to the same restaurant especially when traveling but Cui Cui kept us here and we seriously can come back every night if we live in Old San Juan. The food was phenomenal! We come the first night to try half of the menu then the second night to check the rest. They nailed every dish 👍 I personally love the Foie Gras and Beef Carpaccio so I ended up ordering them twice. Tuna tartare with a perfect poached egg on top. The special is Swordfish with risotto. They change their special dish depending on what is fresh caught from the local market early of the day. I forgot to photograph drink pics but they are also delicious. When I write this review, I think about the 2 meals I had and still so happy with that. Thanks to chef Louis, our front desk helper Juan and team Cui Cui. We had our best 2 meals in Old San Juan. Tips: Grab the reservation before 3p.m or ASAP as your heart desires for good food. The restaurant is small. And come hungry! ❤️

Really impressed with this new spot. The place is hidden in plain sight with no sign or anything which gives it a speakeasy vibe. Inside you’ll find that the space is a long hallway that feels cozy and intimate. The drinks are amazing which is not a surprise given that the owners are the same folks from La Factoria. FYI. Their house negroni is amazing. The food was really nice, we tried the carpaccio and the tuna. Both where great. Its a bit pricey but well worth it!
