Fresh bread and burek in the old town, six in the morning

Istrapek sits right where Koper's old town meets the harbor road, baking all day instead of stopping after the morning rush. Bread, burek and pastry come out fresh from 6am to 10pm, every day of the week.

There's nowhere to sit. This is a counter you hit on your way somewhere else, the beach fifteen minutes down the coast or the ferry terminal a few streets over. The burek alone is worth the detour.

• Open 06:00-22:00 every day. Useful for an early ferry or a late-night craving.
• Grab it to go and eat on the harbor promenade a block away.
