Specialty coffee served as cocktails, not cups

Ssspresso runs on one idea new to Madrid: specialty coffee poured as a cocktail instead of a cup. Bartender Frederick Castillo keeps the bar going deep into the night, a few steps from the Antón Martín market in Lavapiés.

The pairing on offer is coffee-based drinks with sweets made by nuns, convent-baked and hard to find anywhere else in the city.

I've been twice now and the cocktails are 100% worth it—original and delicious. The music is great, and you can even choose songs when there's no DJ. Freddy gave us excellent advice.

Freddie was amazing, drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere, can’t compare it to anywhere I’ve been before. Loved the extra touch of queuing our own music. Would tell anyone and everyone to go.
