López himself gets behind the stove every Thursday lunchtime for his well-known seven-turn cocido, a dish that takes seven separate courses to plate one pot.

It is what it is, but it's not what it should be. That is to say, it's not a stew, but a tasting menu based on stew, a little bit of soup, a little bit of cabbage, a few chickpeas, and so on. It's all fine, but in my opinion, it's not worth spending 80 euros, not for the bone marrow or anything else. The place is nice, spacious, and elegant, although walking past the gaming tables is a bit odd. The service was very friendly, and everything went quite smoothly. I don't think I'll be back.

Jose Antonio and the staff were amazing at Calvero inside Grand Madrid Casino Colón. If you’re looking for a super nice, long date night with amazing food and a great atmosphere, this is the place to come and don’t miss trying the 30,000 Maravedíes Garnacha Tinta red wine, yes that’s the name 😀 ✨ I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. 🎰 Keep in mind — you’ll need to go through the casino to access the restaurant.
