French technique meets Latin America on Soi Somkid

Chef Olivier Limousin spent years in the L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon kitchens before landing here, and it shows in the precision behind a menu that reads Latin American but tastes French underneath. It's the kind of cooking that makes you slow down between bites.

Soi Somkid sits two minutes from Chit Lom BTS but feels cut off from the mall crowds outside, the kind of quiet that makes ordering a second round of drinks feel natural.

My wife and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary here recently. It was our first visit, but we decided to "take the plunge" after hearing so much about the restaurant. We had their Tasting Menu. What a truly unforgettable experience it was! Chef Olivier Limousine and his team were superb from start to finish. Every dish was superbly curated. The caviar tart was out of this world. Merci, Chef Olivier, for making our Special Occasion that much more special. We will definitely be back when next in Bangkok.

I visited Coba while staying in Bangkok (I live in New York) and had such a memorable experience. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Chef Olivier’s tasting menu was incredible—every dish felt like a piece of art, but also tasted amazing. It’s modern French with a fusion twist, and the balance of flavors was just right. I especially loved the caviar cake—definitely worth trying. The bar area is cozy and stylish. I had a drink there before dinner and the chairs were surprisingly comfortable, which made it easy to relax and settle in. The whole space has this forest-inspired, botanical vibe that adds a beautiful touch to the atmosphere. Whether you’re just grabbing a drink, having a casual dinner, or hosting something more formal, Coba feels like a great spot. And don’t skip dessert—their pastry game is strong.

Perhaps one of the best restaurants in Bangkok when it comes to vibrant and vivid ambiance. The place feels alive but serene at the same time (with green aesthetic). As for the food, great taste and excellent presentation. Good wine selection. The service was accommodating from chef to waitress to host to parking attendant. Awesome experience and would definitely be back to try some cocktails.

My first impression of the restaurant was the rainforest-inspired decor, which felt both luxurious and relaxing, creating a captivating and intimate atmosphere. When it came to the food, I was impressed by Chef Olivier Limousin. As the creative force behind COBA's concept and menu, he brings his past Michelin-star experience to the table. Chef Olivier uses his creativity to craft a tasting menu that tells his personal story. I think the dishes were especially appealing to a Thai palate: a lobster ravioli starter, a steak for the main course, and a refreshing mango mousse to finish. Overall, it's a perfect restaurant for special occasions or for people who love to share a unique dining experience together.

Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Bkk. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food and a relaxed vibe!
