A husband-and-wife kitchen cooking French seasons with Thai produce
Two chefs who once cooked side by side at Michelin-starred Marcus Belgravia in London now run their own tiny kitchen above a lane in Talat Noi. Warat 'Big' Areerom and Soohyun Lee, married, build a contemporary French menu around what Thailand actually grows, keeping roughly 90 percent of ingredients Thai-sourced, including seafood from the southern coast.
Dinner is a multi-course menu with an optional wine pairing, Wednesday to Sunday evenings, inside a century-old building most visitors walk straight past. The room seats few, so you'll likely watch the couple work the pass themselves.

Food-wise, it was absolutely superb; every dish was incredibly delicious. The staff and chef are truly passionate about what they do, and you can feel that passion in every plate. Each dish takes you on a journey of flavours, with layers of taste that keep surprising you. They don't just serve food; they create an experience. What they offer goes far beyond the venue itself. Highly recommended!

Had a reservation and experience their seasonal 5-course Summer Tasting Menu. Each course celebrated seasonal ingredients with refined execution and elegant presentation. The flavours were clean, balanced, and well-composed, allowing the freshness and quality of each ingredient to take centre stage. Rather than chasing complexity, the menu focused on subtlety and harmony, making every course enjoyable in its own way, and truly appreciate they blend fruits as one of their main touch to their food courses. The ambiance elevated the experience even further. The softly lit dining room, warm hospitality, and relaxed atmosphere made it an ideal setting for an intimate dinner, where conversation flows as the dinner goes on. Overall, Liana delivered a dining experience that reflects its philosophy of seasonality, craftsmanship, and understated elegance. The Summer Dinner Menu was beautifully curated from start to finish, making it a meal well worth returning for, glad that we made it here to conclude our trip with a fine note.

I love the summer menu, the floral and refreshing taste and delicious dessert. Both chef used to work in England before and I love what they're doing with all the ingredients. Always a pleasure to be back at Liana.

We had the 8-course tasting menu at Liana and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. While each portion was small, there were so many courses and amuse-bouches throughout the meal that we were completely full by the end and bursting at the seams! Every dish was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. I was also celebrating my birthday, and the team made it feel extra special. The pastry chef personally came out with a lovely tart decorated with "Happy Birthday," which was such a thoughtful gesture and made me feel genuinely warm and welcomed. A memorable dining experience with wonderful hospitality. Highly recommended!

I had the spring seasonal menu, and it truly felt like spring on a plate — vibrant, aromatic, and full of quiet elegance. Each course built delicately upon the last, layering flavors with precision and intention. The progression felt thoughtful and refined, developing in nuance while still delivering moments of real impact. Nothing was overpowering, yet every dish left a lasting impression. It was expressive without being excessive, cohesive without being predictable — a beautifully composed experience from beginning to end. The space itself was just as stunning. The ambiance felt warm and refined, perfectly complementing the cuisine, and the service was attentive, gracious, and genuinely welcoming. Honestly, I would come back to Bangkok just to experience this again.
