Rung Rueang

The pork noodle queue Bangkok can't shake
Two shopfronts, one family, and a line that never seems to shrink. Rung Rueang earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for bowls that keep it simple: springy noodles, clean or tom yum broth, and pork in every form you'd want it.
This isn't a sit-down meal. Tables turn fast, regulars call their toppings without looking at a menu, and you eat and go. Off Sukhumvit 26, worth the wait.

One of the Michelin award restaurant which I never got the time to visit till this year. Although full of customers, still able to get the seats within mins. Staff are really friendly and helpful which is kinda rare for one that has collected so many food awards. On the noodles, I liked the clear soup and dry tom yum. For guys definitely can finish 2 bowls. Overall, it is definitely good tasting but I would not purposely come over if I am not staying in this area. If compare to SG or Malaysia pork style noodles, I will still choose SG ones. But when u see the never ending queue outside, maybe I am wrong?

If you are standing on Sukhumvit Soi 26 in Bangkok looking at Rung Rueang (荣泰) pork noodles, you will notice two shops sitting right next to each other. Both are "actual" and authentic. Originally, it was a single family-run business. After the original owner passed away, the business was split between the sons. Because of this family divide, they operate as two separate entities right next door to each other, but they use the exact same name and serve nearly identical menus. I’ve tried both shops (albeit one year apart). Seems like the taste is the same.

Rung Rueang Pork Noodles is one of those places that I make sure to visit whenever I'm in Bangkok. Conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS Station, it's easy to reach and well worth the trip. The restaurant has earned Michelin Guide recognition every year since 2018, and after trying it, it's easy to understand why. The menu is straightforward, with only two serving sizes available — small and medium. Despite the modest portions, the prices are very reasonable, making it easy to order an extra bowl if you're feeling hungry. The noodles are delicious, with a rich and flavorful broth complemented by well-prepared pork and meatballs. Everything comes together nicely for a satisfying and comforting meal. While the restaurant itself is simple and no-frills, the quality of the food is what keeps people coming back. If you're looking for authentic pork noodles in Bangkok, Rung Rueang Pork Noodles is definitely worth a visit. It's a reliable favorite and remains one of my go-to dining spots every time I'm in the city.

Great noodles! Love the tom yum soup, spicy, sour, very strong. Staff recommended me the noodle type and I am glad I went with it. Not the most mindblowing meal in Bangkok but definitely an amazing one! Definitely would say earned its Michelin stars. The place is simple, spacious, and may fill up on peak hours. VERY AFFORDABLE! WOULD RETURN!!!

Ended up eating 2 medium bowls alone! The minced pork is incredible. Quick tip on ordering: if you get the regular dry noodles, it tastes a bit too salty. But if you go for the dry Tom Yum, the flavor balances out perfectly. The shop has no parking, but you can park at the hotel opposite. They charge 100 THB/hour for parking, but here is a hack: just buy a drink at the hotel (around 100-120 THB) to get a free parking stamp. Way more worth it!
