American plates, Turks Island flavors, one long wine list

Opus has been doing the American-meets-Turks-Island thing at the eastern end of Grace Bay so long that regulars know the servers by name. That kind of loyalty is rare on a strip where new openings hog the spotlight.

The wine list gets equal billing with the kitchen, which explains the name. It stays open until 11pm some nights, later than most kitchens on the island, though it's closed Mondays.

Good to know

  • Closed Mondays, open 6-10pm the rest of the week, later on weekends until 11pm.
  • One of the few kitchens on the island still serving past 10pm, useful for a late dinner after a sunset excursion.

We got there about 15 minutes before the kitchen was about to close, after attending my niece graduation. The staffs were understanding and helpful. The food was delicious and drinks were amazing. We enjoyed the atmosphere and had great conversations in comfort.

We had a fantastic dinner at Opus tonight. The food and drinks were delicious. Pedal looked after us so well this evening… she was a true gem! I highly recommend coming here for dinner if you’re on Grace Bay in Turks! We ate on the patio outside and the ambiance was lovely.

We had a chocolate martini and an espresso martini to start. They were fantastic! We got the rum cake which is also great. Steak skewers are fantastic. Also the mahi mahi was great. I would have given five stars but service lacks every time i come here. I had to flag them down to spend more money. Common problem on any Caribbean island. I would eat here again though. Enjoy! Lol. If you need something just go get the staff because they won't come to you and that's just how it is.

Food was absolutely delicious!! One of the best meals during our visit from a food standpoint. Restaurant is also in a beautiful setting!! However, service was definitely sub-par level. We had to ask for simple things multiple times such as a glass of water. We asked 3 different waiters aside from our own before we finally received it! There seemed to be confusion from the wait staff as well. We had several waiters come to the table to take our order after we had already ordered! They also brought out the wrong entrée for me but was able to correct it quickly. Food runner probably just grabbed the wrong dish.

It was okay, it seems like a nice place but I had a couple issues with the overall experience. There were a couple chefs specials on a tiny menu, I ordered a steak from that menu but what arrived was the steak from their regular menu with completely different sides. The mashed potatoes were really dry. I tried to explain to the server the steak issue, she didn’t seem to understand but ended up bringing me some grilled asparagus to make up for the difference in sides. There was also some awkward flirtation between the servers at our table while we were ordering and that was a little weird. I gave in since the steak tasted good and I hate to waste food but it was kind of expensive for me to not get what I wanted. The drinks were good, I had an espresso martini and a dirty vodka martini. My friend got the salmon with fondant potatoes, the potatoes were not good.
