Coco Bistro sits inside what's billed as the largest palm grove on Providenciales, right in the middle of Grace Bay, close enough to walk from most resorts on the strip. Chef and owner Stuart Gray came to Turks and Caicos in 1993 to run the kitchen at Anacaona before opening this place himself.

The menu leans Caribbean, built on fresh ingredients, but it's the coconut pie people talk about most. Book ahead in season, walk-ins rarely get a table, and the place shuts for most of September, so plan around that if you're visiting late summer.

• Dinner only, 5-9:30pm, closed for most of September for the owner's annual break.
• Reservations are hard to get on short notice; book at least a few weeks out for peak season.
