All-day breakfast that beats the resort buffet

Skip the hotel breakfast room. This storefront in Le Vele Plaza on Grace Bay Road pours organic, Fair Trade coffee and runs its full breakfast and lunch menu all day, no cutoff time.

Plastic chairs, counter service, nothing fancy. Crepes, croissants and wraps keep it a quick stop rather than a sit-down meal, and it's become the default morning spot for people staying nearby.

Good to know

  • Open daily from 7am, breakfast and lunch served all day rather than cut off at 11am.
  • Eggs Benny and the fresh-fish plates come up most in reviews; banana bread by the slice is also on offer.

I had a great time here while visiting TCI. This place has a lot of food and drink options. Items for vegetarians, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, coffee and lattes were great! We ordered an array of dishes: pizza, salads, crepes, and sandwiches. The star of the show were the espresso martinis with the housemade tequila! These were very exceptional! When visiting the island make sure you check out Shay’s Cafe!

Visited Shay Cafe for a Saturday morning breakfast. Was a bit crowded but thats Usually a good sign that you're at a great place. Eventhough crowded. We did not have any issues of securing a table for a party of two. A server came to us Immediately, handed us our menus and explained the process. You place your order inside and pay at the counter. Take a number to your table and they bring your order to your table. The menu has the basics of all you would need for a hearty breakfast. Prices were relatively affordable by island/ Gracebay standards. The food came out quickly. Portions were great and the food itself was great. Only wish they had sausages on the menu (love me a good breakfast sausage) but they do have turkey and regular bacon on for offer.

I had breakfast here yesterday and it was a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, and the service was truly exceptional—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The nutella crepes were awesome. The only downside: it was extremely expensive.

Shake Cafe was highly recommended, so we had to try it for breakfast before leaving, and I will say, it’s super cute and definitely popular. It stays busy, and it’s more of a find-your-own-seat setup where you order at the counter. I ordered the cured smoked salmon Benedict (added avocado). I do appreciate that they even offer smoked salmon because most places only do ham, so that was a plus. Overall, I’d give it a 3/5. It was ok, just not amazing. The English muffin though? 10/10. Super soft, fresh, and honestly one of the best I’ve had. You could really taste the Swiss cheese too. The hollandaise wasn’t my favorite, it was a little different from what I’m used to. I also tried the smoked salmon omelet, and I will say, if you go here, GET THE OMELET. Everybody who ordered one loved it. That’s definitely one of their standout items. I like that they offer half portions too (like half omelets or French toast), which is perfect if you want to mix and match. Now… the matcha? I’m sorry, but 0/5. It was unsweetened and not in a good way. Definitely something they should warn you about. I had to go back in and get syrup just to make it drinkable. Overall, cute spot, good options, and worth trying, just order wisely.

SHAY CAFÉ is an excellent breakfast & lunch eatery and coffee shop located at Le Vele Plaza in the central Grace Bay region in Turks and Caicos. There is both indoor air-conditioned seating, as well as al fresco seating in the tranquil courtyard of the plaza. Jodesti will treat you with white glove service. Great panini's and coffee. Highly Recommend AAA++++
