Deli by day, Mediterranean bistro and wine bar by night
Clara runs three jobs out of one room on Bethnal Green Road. Up front there's a deli counter, behind it a Mediterranean bistro menu from a chef who came from Artusi in Peckham, and wine running through the whole space.
The team behind it ran The Farrier in Camden, and they've picked the right end of Shoreditch for something this layered. Bethnal Green Road stays rougher and cheaper than Old Street, and the deli gives the place a reason to be open at breakfast, not just at nine at night.

We visited clara’s for our anniversary celebration. Lovely vibe and service was good (it is busy on weekdays too so please be prepared to chill and wait) Food was good overall (we would love to come back for just the wine and croquettes) Mains were ok (the asparagus was good but pasta was below average you can omit that) Dessert is good, we really liked it. Overall 3/5 and price is too high for the quantity -95£ for two people. Vibe was good

A friend and I shared an exquisite meal here. We had the Perello olives, the bread and Herby whipped butter (so good oh my god), the smoked duck rillettes (a decent portion I was pleasantly surprised), then the sirloin steak for two with chips and salad which was SUBLIME just gorgeous really, and finished off with the cheesecake. And a bottle of wine plus desert wine throughout. The food was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly, atmosphere warm and intimate and not trying too hard. Music wasnt too loud either. It wasn't cheap but I don't think this is the kind of place you go for cheap. It was a wonderful evening and we had the best time

We had the most amazing group dinner at Clara’s! I really have to sing their praises, they were so attentive, lovely, and organised. It was incredibly great value for money, they have a great wine list and the food was delicious. Really a 10/10 experience, get in before this place pops off because it has everything you want in a restaurant!

Clara’s is such a beautiful wine bar in the heart of Shoreditch like the cutest 🤩 food is good but I would say I love to come here for a nice drink as they have all sorts of beautiful wines on the menu. Can either come here for a drinks night or cute nibble food. Loved the steak & chips and also the bread with that garlic butter is just yum yum yum. Staff are so lovely always smiling and there for everything you need help with a big thank you too foxx, Callum and Kian yous really make hospitality what it should be.

Maybe my favourite place in Shoreditch! The wine is to die for, and every single thing on the menu- absolutely incredible. The chicken skewers are INSANE, only downside is how small they are. The steak is perfect, sauces are perfect, the olives are top notch. 10/10, can’t wait to come back. Such lovely servers too!
