A 1,200°C iron poker gets plunged straight into your drink
FlipDog's whole bar revolves around one trick: a flip dog, the iron poker once heated to mull ale, now taken to 1,200°C and plunged into cocktails to caramelise and aerate them mid-pour. It changes flavour, texture and aroma in one hiss of steam, which is more than most bar theatrics manage.
Small plates with European and Asian influences hold their own against drinks that arrive smoking. City Road sits at the edge of Old Street's bar strip, close enough to Shoreditch to pull a queue for a party trick backed by real technique.

Very fancy modernizing cocktail bar! Every drink is a signature, I love half pint the most! Worth it to try!

Necta 2 👍 Crafted with a limited-edition nectarine brandy – just 113 bottles made in collaboration with Capreolus and Flipdog. Rich, vibrant peach and nectarine notes throughout. Once this special base is gone, it won’t be remade – don’t miss out! Night Cab My favourite peaty profile, served with an edible “leather” disc made from white chocolate that looks and feels just like the real thing – such a fun, imaginative touch. Half Pint Looks just like a wheat beer, topped with oaty foam. The maltiness gives it that familiar beer-like feel, but with no fizz and a lovely fresh fruity twist instead. Hazeltni Essentially a hazelnut take on a Coffee Martini. Deep, rich notes of roasted hazelnut and coffee, finished with a silky foam that mimics the natural crema of espresso. Cucu The cucumber flavour is more subtle than I expected – the pickled element takes centre stage, leaving a gentle spicy kick that tastes just like Sichuan pickles. Surprisingly fun and full of character!

Loved this place. The cocktails were really well made and each one had its own character without being overcomplicated. The team were friendly, welcoming and happy to talk us through the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed with a great vibe, making it an easy place to spend the evening. Definitely somewhere I’d come back to for drinks with friends.

Fantastic cocktail bar with a really unique concept. The cocktails were creative, beautifully presented, and tasted amazing. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better. Great atmosphere and definitely one of the best cocktail bars in London. Highly recommend!

Matcha kiwi This cup must be ordered! I thought matcha and kiwi would be very strange. The result is unexpectedly refreshing, Matcha is very light and not bitter. Kiwifruit makes the whole glass of wine very summery, It belongs to the kind that girls will like. 🫧 Goose Bubbles Don't miss it if you like it with a little bubble feeling. The fruity fragrance is obvious, It's easy to drink and very layered. The first sip will make people want to continue drinking. 🍺Half Pint It looks like a glass of beer. But it's actually a cocktail. The foam is very soft, It smells a little more fruity than beer. People who don't drink much beer will also think it's delicious. 🥦Sunday Roast This is the cup that surprised me the most that day. The roasted broccoli above is really creative. It smells like roasting. When you drink, you will think of the most classic Sunday Roast in Britain. It feels like making a dish into a glass of wine, which is very special.
