An all-day Italian kitchen lands in Biltmore Village

Chef Anthony Cerrato's Italian-American spot left Westgate Shopping Center behind for a bigger home at 28 Hendersonville Road. There's a private dining room now, and the kitchen runs breakfast straight through dinner most days.

That's the real shift: Biltmore Village didn't have an all-day Italian option before this. Come for pasta at lunch, stay for a proper dinner, or just start with eggs.

Atmosphere I great, service is better. We had Bobby when we went and he was very sweet and attentive! We did order to go a few days after and were not really impressed. We got the arancini which was lacking in the amount of sauce and the creamed corned which was $15 and was truly just a can of corn with popcorn and cheese on top. The popcorn was stale and chewy. Complete miss for us and not worth the price. Ok after being upset about the corn, we’ve tried other dishes and it’s still the best in the area. Order anything else and it’s a 10/10.

I am so incredibly happy we have Gemelli in Biltmore Village! I had my first dinner at this location recently and it was a fantastic experience all around. The service was wonderful - Carly was kind and friendly and attentive, offering suggestions for wine and her favorites from the menu. I also spoke with Dominic, who was delightful and we shared the feelings of hope and optimism around Biltmore Village as shops have started reopening and the energy in the community feels inspired. The food was EXCELLENT!! The grilled peaches with Kalamata olives was a standout for me - something new I’ve never tried before and is now a favorite! The frisée salad was perfect and bright, the Buccatini had a little kick to it with delicious broccolini and lamb sausage, and the lasagne was delicious! The restaurant has recently been recognized for their historic preservation of the building after the storm, and I must say it’s a beautiful space, with lots of light, and it feels both cozy and vibrant with a nice aesthetic! I highly recommend this restaurant and encourage everyone to go and support our local businesses in Biltmore Village!

I waited months to try the tiramisu, watching this location slowly develop over time, looking forward to my special dessert, no matter the cost… and it turned out to be supremely lackluster for $14. A sorry scoop in a box. With tip it was $17…for this. Disappointed. Go to Old Europe for superior desserts. I absolutely LOVE tiramisu, but this did not hit the mark. A true Italian place can be judged by the quality and execution of their desserts- as a litmus test, and unfortunately, this ain’t it. Gonna think twice about making a big reservation here. And yes, that is spray whip cream and chocolate sauce. FYI.

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant last night, and the server was great. However, there are some details that I would hope the restaurant will consider to elevate the experience for the next guest. I called ahead of time to let them know we are celebrating my moms 70th birthday and fathers day. I understand Mom didn't order dessert, but a happy birthday acknowledgement wouldve been great. Happy Birthday on behalf of all of us from the restaurant. The server did give a free ice cream, but saying happy birthday or a candle on the dessert wouldv'e been good. Also, when we checked in, the hostesses said the table wasn't ready - no problem. However, she said go sit over there, and she will let us know when our table is ready. However, what wouldve been better to make it more personable, and to make more money for the restaurant is you are more then welcome to sit at the bar and have a drink before dinner. I honestly though really care about no acknowledgement of the birthday. If people choose your restaurant, and we live 2.5 hours away make every detail count.

I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant. Everything was exceptional - the food, the atmosphere, the service. THE FOOD - I had the buscatini, then tiramisu for dessert. My wife had the ravioli, then the strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was all truly unique and delicious. THE ATMOSPHERE - They are in Biltmore Village, across from the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Plenty of parking, and the interior is beautifully done. It is classy, and yet it is not ‘stuffy.’ The decor is tasteful, warm and inviting. THE SERVICE - Dimitri, the general manager, made us feel welcome, and made sure our experience met our standards. (It far exceeded them!) Karley was our server. She is attentive and friendly - indeed, she is delightful. We did not feel rushed, and yet we did not need to wait for anything. OVERALL - This establishment obviously has chosen to invest in experiential and culinary artistry and excellence. They have achieved it, and my wife and I were beneficiaries of it. We are from out-of-town (the DC area), and it was only our second night in the area. I have never had the occasion to write such an enthusiastic review - and yet it’s well earned. Dine there; you’ll see what I mean.
