Breakfast and lunch on Bryn Mawr
Fried Egg Cafe opened on West Bryn Mawr in March 2026, on the short commercial stretch between the Red Line stop and the lake. It's a straightforward neighbourhood breakfast room, not a project.
Mornings cover pancakes, french toast, and egg platters. Later the menu picks up burgers, reubens, and a cheesesteak topped with giardiniera, the local tell.

So glad I stopped in for a much needed hangover meal. Best breakfast burrito I’ve probably ever had. As a chef, I love when food is SEASONED! Not only was the food perfect but the service was impeccable!! Literally every staff member was so sweet and helpful. 10/10 new favorite neighborhood gem.

Great new spot in Edgewater! The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and everything was full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the prices were very affordable. Definitely worth checking out—I’ll be back!

Love this restaurant for breakfast and brunch! Every dish I've ordered has been delicious. Generous omelettes and scramblers, excellent biscuits & gravy. Be sure to order the light and fluffy pancakes with your breakfast! Fast and friendly service. An easy choice for breakfast or a brunch gathering. Great to have this restaurant in the neighborhood!

Really glad this space is being used again. I came in around 11am on a Monday and was seated immediately. The staff were so kind and attentive, and my omelette was fantastic! Only a little over $20 for an iced coffee, pancakes, omelette, and hash browns. I was also informed they will start serving dinner soon as well. Can't wait!

I should have tried this place as soon as it opened! I had the All American Omelette, which comes with a heaping portion of hashbrowns and I elected for the pancakes and I’m so glad I did! The pancakes were so soft, the perfect thickness and fell apart in my mouth. A perfect sweet compliment to the savory main dish. The hashbrowns were roughly cut, adding a unique texture, with varying soft and semi-crunchy parts. A bit of salt and pepper added at the table and they were quite tasty. The omelette is where the meal shined. I’ve had many omelettes in my lifetime, but this one just tasted so fresh. It was pillowy, the veggies were cooked perfectly and the ham gave it an amazing bite. The saltiness was perfected with an excellent choice and amount of cheeses. Overall 10/10 for the food! The service was great. The host was kind, calm and accommodating. My server, Tyler, was very sweet and provided great service to me and many other tables. Excellent Service. The resultant was clean, with a hum of conversation but not too loud that you can’t converse yourself with friends or family. The room felt “open” while every table was full, and the lighting, decoration and temperature made it all feel very cozy. 100% recommend trying this place out. It’s a great addition to Bryn Mawr and Edgewater. ❤️🍽️🍳
