Skip Duval Street. Blue Flamingo sits on the Gulf-facing stretch where Key West's bigger resorts live, and it's built for groups, not couples chasing a quiet guesthouse. The 245 rooms go all in on color, flamingo pinks and tropical prints, on purpose.
The Backyard Pool & Social Club is the real draw, a separate poolside setup with weekend parties and day passes for non-guests. Add cabanas, a tiki grog shop and a lawn-games yard, and this is the biggest hotel opening Key West has seen in years.
Good to know
- It sits on the New Town side near the golf course, not in Old Town - budget 10 minutes by car or scooter to Duval.
- The Backyard Pool & Social Club runs weekend pool parties that non-guests can buy into via day passes.

Irina is an amazing and very attentive bartender. She’s polite and so much fun! I’ve really enjoyed my stay here and the bar area made it so much better. Nice resort. Would recommend anyone to stay here while visiting Key West.

We stayed here for a week. Overall it was good but service was inconsistent. Loved the resort area and the shuttle helped us tremendously in getting around town without needing to Uber everywhere. Our sleep was not too disturbed by the roosters. The front desk staff was always friendly when we came to ask questions and they would call to check if we needed housekeeping if our DND was on the door. However, there were a couple of fixtures in our room that were falling off the wall. They said they would be sending someone to fix and we never heard anything back. The shower was also a little rusty. We also ran out of toilet paper the day before checkout and my husband went to the front desk to ask for some. They didn’t have any so they said housekeeping would bring it. No one ever came by that day or night. I’m not sure how the ball got dropped on such a minor but important request.

Beautiful hotel with great service by their friendly, smiling staff. The grounds out back are really nice, with 2 swimming pools, 2 bars, food trucks and an assortment of games such as cornhole, ladder toss, giant chess game and basketball hoops. The on-site hourly shuttle will bring you to Old Town in 10 minutes. This many outdoor activities are rare as far as I'm concerned, coupled with spotless grounds and rooms make the Blue Flamingo a real winner! Thanks to your staff too!

The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful and the check-in and check out process were super quick. The location is convenient since it’s about 10 mins away from all the main spots. The pools were great and spacious. There’s a Starbucks right next door which gives its guest 10% off. There were a few cons such as that there were roaches in the bathroom and hair from the previous guests in the shower. The food is delicious but pricey and it includes an automatic gratuity fee which adds up quite quickly.

I’ve been there twice in one month, once solo and this time with my husband for our 3 year anniversary. The staff, especially Jose, are all super helpful, friendly, and kind. If space permits, they work so hard to allow you to check in early. You can also check out late upon request. The bars, pools, and amenities on site are all super fun and make the experience even better. There’s a shuttle that takes you to and from town! Starbucks on site. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend. Please give Jose a raise, he is the best and deserves it!!
