The Tâm Tâm team's Chinese pop-up, inside the old Schnitzel House

The founders of Tâm Tâm, the downtown Vietnamese restaurant, took over the former New Schnitzel House space on NE 79th Street to open Double Luck with chef Adrian Ochoa. The cooking is seasonal, regional Chinese food, and Chinese-American classics stay on the menu instead of getting cut.

What started as a pop-up has settled into a real restaurant, open Thursday to Sunday from 5.30pm. Walk-ins welcome.

What a beautiful experience. The food, service, creativity, ambiance, everything about this place was special. Standouts were the spicy Sichuan noodle and the walnut shrimp, but everything was phenomenal

Underwhelming. Given all of the hype this restaurant has accumulated, all of the amazing reviews, the Michelin guide, the super high score on infatuation I expected a meal that would take me places, that would have my mouth dancing with flavors and trying to uncover was was behind each dish. Unfortunately every dish we ordered felt flat, same one note flavor all throughout. I’m not sure who in the kitchen is in charge of sauces but they really love acid. The walnut shrimp was pure mayo lemon sauce there was none of the traditional expected sweetness to be found. The crab rangoon’s sauce was also heavily on the acidic side and so was the eggplants sauce. The best thing for me that we ordered was the ribs and even then it was underwhelming again given all of the hype behind this place. Did I maybe order their least popular items? Could be, that I don’t know I did ask our waiter for recommendations and those were the highlighted dishes. The ambiance was amazing although music was a bit loud and the service was 100/10 no notes. Seriously what saved the experience for me was the service thank you to all of the waiting staff yall are the real rockstars of this place. What’s incredible to me is that this restaurant sits at number 16 in infatuations best Miami restaurants along side other restaurants that have really blown my mind. Which makes me wonder, did they pay to be in that spot or has their kitchen staff changed recently?

A new American Chinese cuisine spot with a twist of combinations and original flavors. Try the Char Siu Barbecue Ribs, the Tempura Eggplant or the exquisite Hennessy Orange Chicken. Service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Service and food is phenomenal. Every bite made me happier, the new Ginger Scallion Noodles and Chicken Shumai were my favorite. Thank you for making my date night with my mom so special! ❤️

I had such an amazing experience at Double Luck! Everything we ordered was incredible. The Hennessy orange chicken was so flavorful and delicious. Also, the crab fried rice was great, and loaded with crab, which I loved!! The crab rangoons, hands down the BEST I’ve ever had! Perfectly crispy on the outside and so creamy and packed inside. If you’re looking for amazing Chinese food with great service, this is the restaurant for you! Everyone was so attentive and made us feel so welcomed.
