Croissants at 8am, the day's loaf at 10

Mama Bread opened on Woodland Street in September 2025 with a simple daily rhythm: croissants out of the oven from 8am, the bread of the day from 10am, and that is what there is until it is gone.

The shop also carries produce from Bloomsbury Farm plus oils, jellies, butters and chocolate. Get there before 11 on a Saturday or plan on pastry for lunch instead.

Food was incredible! We had a bunch of plates and shared between a few people. The croissants were so flavorful! We had a lovely green salad, tomato sandwich, chicken sandwich and smoked salmon smorrebrod. All of the produce was so incredibly fresh and delicious. Simple but well executed. Highly recommend !!

Great spot for freshly made pastries with great depth of flavor and texture. Ham and cheese croissant with everything bagel seasoning was a great savory combination along with a properly made cappuccino. Service was quick and efficient. Outside patio great spot to sit and relax on a spring day.

Absolutely beautiful café started by the most talented baker who has blessed some of the country's most storied bakeries with her loving art and incredible skill. Just get there early, because this is not a well-kept secret and pastries go quickly... Cherish this local talent!

Croissants and all the baked goods are outstanding. Ham and cheese croissant was so good I look forward to my next one. Their coffee, however, is only ok and for the price is not worth it. To be fair I've only had a latte and a mocha and have not tried the coldbrew/non milked but their milk based drinks are overpoweringly just milk. Maybe that will change! Come for the baked goods, get coffee elsewhere if you're not dining in.

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have more reviews. We went to several different bakeries in Nashville and this was hands down the BEST one. The most amazing, flaky pastries. Some of the best pastries I’ve ever had.
