Mexico City carne asada, on house flour tortillas
The carne asada is the reason to come, but the tortillas are the twist. Tacos Domingo presses flour ones in house, the less common call in a city that defaults to corn.
It runs until three in the morning on weekends, which puts it in a small club of places actually worth eating at that late.

Tacos Domingo was great. The place was super clean, food came out super fast, meat had really high quality, and the best thing about it is that the staff was super friendly. They even gave me a cool tote bag because I also purchased one of the taco books. We'll definitely come back

Sometimes the simplest spots end up being the most memorable. Tacos Domingo brings authentic Mexico City flavors to the East Village, keeping the menu focused with perfectly grilled carne asada (with chicken coming soon 👀). The homemade wheat tortillas completely won me over, and the salsa bar lets you build every taco exactly how you want it. Don’t skip the Pirata de Carne Asada. The cheese cooked into the tortilla was easily my favorite bite of the meal. Pair it with the dressed baby potatoes and one of their incredibly fresh juices, and you’ve got a meal that’s simple, authentic, and seriously satisfying.

First and foremost, the bean and cheese taco (on its fluffy flaky flour tortilla) made me actually gasp out loud, it was so gorgeous with simplistic decadent flavors & textures... I plan on returning here again and again just for this, a luxurious version of my favorite thing at Del Taco when I was a kid, which somehow basically everyone else always gets wrong, and I have been perturbed for years... The steak taco and the quesadilla were both very nice... Will definitely be returning, and wishing them posterity...

I would say this is a good 1 or 2am taco. Not a good 7 or 8pm taco. Carne asada was a bit chewy and the tortilla didn’t feel that fresh. They do have a good toppings / salsa bar. IMO the taco should come with guac, but it was worth it to pay $1.25 extra (it would have been too dry otherwise - the meat wasn’t flavourful on its own). I could see this being a reliable late night spot for me

Ricardo was above and beyond by explaining everything, friendly and highly knowledgeable, the food was unbelievably good, a lot attention to detail and high quality on the product the beans are so good and the piratas are out of this world, the potatoes are good to share but the star is the carne asada and the most delicious flour tortilla I’ve tried on my life. I recommend this place a lot no questions ask you’ll have the best northern style Mexican tacos.
