A Parisian bistro on Franklin Street, run by the Finches
Skip the destination-dining hype. Kevin and Alexa Finch are running Arthur as a proper neighbourhood bistro, and the cooking backs that up with detail: beef tartare made with local meat and black garlic, grilled scallops with turnip and dashi.
It sits a few doors from Gigi's, which opened the same month on the same stretch of Franklin Street.

Went to dinner at Arthur’s couple weeks back and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There was 4 of us and instead of picking dishes we just asked for the entire menu minus the caviar and 1 other item. The absolute standout was the beef tartare, which one of my friend said was the best she’s had. The tuna was outstanding as well. There were 2 vegetables dishes that were surprisingly flavorful that we were happily surprised about. We had martinis and some wine by the glass that were all crowd pleasers. I would mention, one of my reds was chilled and I really wish restaurants would mention that on the menu, so you’re aware when ordering. It was a warm summer night so it was fine, but it throws me off each time this happens. The service and vibe were excellent, and I would absolutely recommend dining at Arthur with friends.

Stellar experience sitting at the bar and getting to talk to the wonderful people who made our delicious food! If you’re really cool, they’ll even bring out a lil surprise for you

No notes! Loved every bit. I highly suggest ordering a few of the items plus a main for the table. Everything is great!

This neighborhood restaurant is EXACTLY the kind of place you hope to find close to home—comfortable, consistent, and quietly excellent. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between relaxed and thoughtful, and lively and fun, making it such a welcome place to retreat to, after a hectic day. The menu is focused without being limited, and everything we tried was perfectly prepared. There’s a sense of confidence in the dishes that comes from working with quality ingredients and a skilled kitchen team. A place to come back to again and again.

With a rotating menu we got to enjoy around half of the menu in a sharing environment. I was completely blown away by the technique involved in the brioche bun - simple concept and incredible execution. The other dishes were stronly umami centric and in all the best sense - mushroom skewers, snails, tartare, the tart and my favorite of the bunch, the steak. It had a very special taste profile that deserves coming back for.
