Tokyo-Neapolitan pizza on St Marks, from Tsubasa Tamaki
Tsubasa Tamaki is largely credited with turning Tokyo into a pizza city, and this is his first New York room. The dough is the point: a recipe he has worked on for seventeen years, fermented thirty hours, made with flour milled and blended in Tokyo.
Pies hit a 900-degree oven and come out finished with Okinawan salt. The Tamaki, with cherry tomatoes and smoked mozzarella, is the house pie. The 5 Formaggi gets a drizzle of honey over soft, deliberately funky cheeses. It runs in partnership with Moody Tongue Brewing, in the space the brewery's old pizza project used to hold.

Probably one of the best Neapolitan pizzas I have had. The consistency of each pie was amazing. The toppings are never overbearing. Everything felt fresh. Service was great too. Will definitely come back. The 5 formaggi with prosciutto is to die for. The daily special we had was butter chicken. Delicious. They used chicken sausage. However, it being 40$ was a little on the expensive side. The ice cream is good….. but if you are full it’s not a must.

One of the best pizza experiences in NYC. The place lives up to its expectations. The pizza dough is soft, airy and doesn’t make you feel bloated even after trying multiple pies. It has the right mix of traditional Italian ingredients coupled with high quality meats that is flavorful. We tried 9 pizza on the menu, 3 appetizers, 4-5 beers, and 2-3 deserts - pretty much all the recommended items of the menu. In my view, must try include - Wagyu meatballs (in app), Margherita, Romana, Tamaki, Arrabiatta, Bismarck, Butter Chicken special (in pizza), Orange Blossom Belgian Blonde and Shaved Black Truffle Pilsner (in beers), Tiramisu and Olive oil ice cream (in desert). The service was fast and they made sure everything was very comfortable.

I had super high expectations when they opened because I saw many social media posts saying it’s hard to get a reservation and it’s the best pizza ever etc… While the pizza was good, it didn’t live up to the hype. The prices were quite high, and pizza crust was too burnt. Overall, it was a just okay pizzeria. One more thing I didn’t like was they tried to charge us a 25% tip…. No way… our waiter dropped our meatball and didn’t bring new one. I don’t think I’ll be coming back. So many better pizza places in NYC. Don’t recommend.

Good pizza but overhyped. Still prefer John's of Bleeker or Mamas Too over this place, but to each their own preferences. Ordered 3 pizzas - Tamaki, Bismarck, and Njuda (a little over $100 not including drinks). Dough is chewy and salty. Worth coming here once to try some of their unique pie flavors, but hard to justify the price of $35 for most of their personal sized pizzas.

We had a perfectly fabulous time and we will be back for sure. We promise the next time we will be more familiar with the beers. We were very grateful for your patience with our indecisiveness. The chef's invitation into the kitchen was a special bonus. We loved every dish, PST salad, meatballs, arancini and of course Margherita and Sausage with Nduja! A wonderful experience - we hope to return soon!
