Little Gay Pub

★ 4.2 · 140 reviews Philadelphia Opened May 2025

The DC bar that moved to 13th Street, rooftop included.

Little Gay Pub opened its Philadelphia outpost in Midtown Village in May 2025, bringing a long u-shaped bar and a rooftop lounge to 13th Street. It started in Washington DC and this is its first move out of the district.

Food is deliberately unserious: ham and Swiss sliders, tater tots, dinosaur bites. The roof is the reason to arrive early on a warm evening, because it fills up first.

LGP is hands down my favorite gay bar in Philadelphia. The atmosphere is always lively, welcoming, and full of great energy, whether you’re stopping in for happy hour or a late night out. One of the best features is the outdoor balcony patio—it’s such a great place to enjoy a drink and people-watch while still feeling tucked away from the bustle. The cocktail menu is fun and creative, with plenty of options that go beyond the usual bar staples. Every visit has been a great time thanks to the friendly crowd, upbeat vibe, and consistently great drinks. If you’re looking for a fun night out in Philly, LGP is a must-visit.

The name sounded so cute, we had to pop in! EXPERIENCE: ID’s are checked at the door. There’s a staircase that leads to an upstairs and a possible rooftop deck but it was never open when we went (Monday & Tuesday nights). A small seating area with quirky decor, high tops, a long communal bench and booth greets you, followed by a few bar and countertop seats thereafter. Monday night featured a “DJ” taking requests and playing musical show & movie tune videos which was fun but they oddly closed at 12:15 am when the place was fairly busy. Tuesday night was boring with nothing going on. LIBATION: Male bartender made a pretty good espresso martini. SERVICE: No friendliness here. Bouncers were like robots with no personalities. No waitstaff is available so head to the counter for everything. Bartenders were alright. OVERALL: Okay place to have a drink and talk. Head elsewhere for dancing and liveliness.

Well designed gay bar. Drinks are good but expensive. You come for the roof deck and the atmosphere and a heavy pour(most gay bar drinks are strong). Cheaper places to drink but they make a mean French 75.

Amazing bar! Drinks were very tasty with some unique twists. Also bartender was so sweet and efficient while still giving everyone attention. Honestly impressive. My friend and I went twice in one weekend!

Cute bar. Great staff. Good drinks, some were a little unbalanced and too sweet but fantastic deal on espresso martinis on sundays
