Mana Modern Chinese

Dim sum, noodles and lychee curry duck on Second Street.
Mana opened on North Second Street in July 2025 with a Chinese menu that takes a few detours. Dim sum and noodle dishes sit next to tofu hummus and a lychee-infused curry duck.
It's a Northern Liberties dinner spot rather than a quick lunch. Order the duck if you want to see what the kitchen is actually doing.

Mana Modern Chinese was a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and inviting with warm tones that make the space feel comfortable right away. Service was prompt and attentive throughout the meal. Every dish we tried had incredible flavor—especially the Crispy Chicken Dumplings, Chili Kissed Burrata, Pork Chop Fried Rice, and the Sha-rry Beef Udon. The biggest surprise of the night was the Egg Custard Carrot with Ice Cream, which was the sweet ending we didn’t realize we needed. Overall, a fantastic meal with great flavors and a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

What an amazing local spot in NoLibs. I was blown away with all the dishes we had. From the burrata to the noodles to the tea, everything was carefully plated and tasted wonderful. This is definitely an upscale take on Chinese food and it delivers. The atmosphere in the restaurant matches the food, the presentation of the dishes is a 10/10, and the service was phenomenal. I think at this price point there’s not many better places in NoLibs!

I’m not sure if going an hour before closing was the factor in this situation. But the overall experience wasn’t great I ordered kung pao chicken, which came out cold and with very little chicken. It was mostly peppers and onions, which were undercooked and extra crunchy. Then from 10pm until 10:20pm, I’m trying to grab a waiter to order tea. When the tea comes out it is ice cold. But it was in a kettle. And it didn’t seem like the tea even stepped because it was so cold. The lotus bites and ember wontons were excellent though. The dining area was very nice and clean. I’m not sure I would come back here again.

Believe it or not, I have eaten here 10+ times! It's just that good! The ambiance is perfect for a date night with a little light at the table to set the mood. Before coming to MANA, remember to stop by a store to grab a drink because they are BYOB!! The service is impeccable and all the servers are attentive and helpful when guiding us through the menu. (There are some pictures that I'm missing because we just wanted to dive straight in). Here are some dishes you MUST TRY! APPETIZERS ⭐️ Mapo Tofummus ⭐️ Crab Rangoon Roll Up ⭐️ Chili Kissed Burrata ⭐️ Forbidden Ribs ENTREES ⭐️ Black Truffle Mushroom Beef ⭐️ Lychee Infused Curry Duck DESSERT ⭐️ Custard Bloom MANA is definitely a hidden gem in NoLibs and I can't wait to go back!

Had a great meal and an even better experience at Mana – Modern Chinese. The standout of the evening was the Shiitake Bao — pillowy buns filled with perfectly seasoned shiitake mushrooms. I could easily eat a whole plate of these! Next up was the Jade Harmony Fried Rice, a vibrant vegetarian dish wok-tossed with fresh mixed vegetables. It was flavorful, beautifully presented, and definitely another highlight. For the main course, we shared the Clay Pot Braised Salmon — slow-braised in a soy-infused broth with ginger, scallions, Chinese broccoli, basil, and bell peppers. This dish was a favorite among my dinner companions, with the rich, aromatic broth complementing the salmon perfectly. The only slight miss for me was the Forbidden Ribs. While the ribs themselves were tender and well-prepared, the sweet-sour balsamic soy glaze wasn’t quite to my taste — so that may just be personal preference so I don’t see as negative. Overall, Mana delivers an elevated and creative take on modern Chinese cuisine. The service was top-notch, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere comfortable. I highly recommend visiting — and I’ll definitely be back!
