Philly's first all-romance bookstore, staff match you to a trope
Staff here will happily match you to a trope, from romantasy to dark romance. Author events, signings and four monthly book clubs keep the calendar full.
Cupid's Bookshop opened in early 2025 on Grape Street in Manayunk, then outgrew it and moved to a bigger home at 4347 Main Street. It's woman- and AAPI-owned, Philadelphia's first bookstore devoted to romance. The Inquirer called it Philly's hottest store within weeks. Late in 2025 the owners opened Thrillerdelphia, a horror-focused sister shop a block away.
Good to know
- Four monthly book clubs (romantasy, LGBTQ+, dark romance and contemporary) and members vote on the picks.
- Its horror sister store Thrillerdelphia is a two-minute walk down Main Street; do both.

I was curious about this bookshop and the selection of books the titles they offered. I was greeted when I entered the shop and found it to be cozy and inviting. Their cardboard standee of Edward Cullen was a nice touch to the shop. When asking for a recommendations, the booksellers were kind and demonstrated a strong knowledge in romance titles and we discussed about my openess to certain elements, plotlines, and tropes in a romance story. I loved how booksellers kept giving me recommendations until I said "that's good for now." I may not be a romance reader or huge fan of the genre, but I enjoyed my time here. I love the vision the shop owner has brought to life for this unique bookshop!

Hands down the cutest shop in Manayunk. Very friendly and helpful staff, diverse selection of books for all readers, and a cozy vibe! What more can you ask for from a bookstore?

Love love love! This bookshop is well-stocked, with allllll the romance subgenres. Romantasy, LGBTQ+, paranormal, contemporary, historical, all that good stuff. The staff are so helpful and seem genuinely excited to find you a book that suits your interests and style. They also have blind date books, cute stickers, totes, kindle accessories. This place is fabulous.

So cute! The romance inventory is quite good, with some books having beautiful bindings! And if they don't have something in stock that you wanted from their website, they will order it in for you. You pay a $5 deposit and when you pick up the book, the $5 goes towards the cost of the book purchase. Also, bags, bookmarks, and lots of other cute items for purchase! Of course, some items are quite naughty as well haha They have a good modern website with text systems for notifications. If you're interested in the book club, you will need to sign up for Bookclubs, but then you can view the times and dates for the different clubs and reserve a spot. They seem to host many other events as well including book signings and have QR codes all over the store. They also have a tiered reward system as the amount you spend at the store increases. Highly recommend! Very friendly to every single person who walked in the door. I will be back to support!

Omg so cute. Everyone was very friendly. Any book you touched someone would tell you about it. And it wouldn't even be the ladies that worked there. I am totally going back. And the pink chairs. Chefs kiss
