the okumidori with oat milk is out of this world. bold, umami, earthy. this is my ideal pairing in an oat latte. the cafe has a unique atmosphere that both confuses and comforts me. projector on the wall, a menu with a nostalgic feel, and a cozy wood interior. if i wasn't on my way out of town i would have stayed awhile. the baristas are friendly and chatty toward each other - this is a green flag to me in any cafe. the prices feel adequate to the ingredients they offer. i would love to see some better technique as far as whisking and milk steaming goes. my matcha had clumps and my latte was over aerated. regardless, the cultivar carried the drink and i was satisfied. there is so much potential at this new cafe and i'm excited to see its growth! i will undeniably be back to try more.

The matcha and Houjicha drinks are wonderful (and strong) along with their soft serve(ube+matcha). (They also provide good suggestions according to taste and are the sweetest people!) It’s a nice place to get some work done, or just hang out. They have good wifi and good vibes ! Visited twice on my trip to Portland ♥️

glad to try and visit this place!!! the place is small and cute. lot of people since on the weekend. hard to find parking in downtown portland when it is packed. I got the matcha strawberry cheese cake latte and banana matcha. also, got the egg sandwich. Drinks were good and try them I recommend.

The mill is mesmerizing in action - from the display, the countertop build, to the movement. It adds intentionality & style that elevates everything for Mako Matcha. The drinks were just as thoughtful. Beautifully layered, and they looked as good as they tasted. All 3 drinks had an elegant umami touch & vibrant flavors from the puree/syrup. I got to meet/talk to the owners, who are very kind & innovative. I appreciate the hospitality & learning the thought process behind the mill. The soft serve was simply a beautiful swirl - I almost didn’t want to touch it. Excited to see what Mako Matcha Mill comes up next, whether it be a new matcha drink or location.

My favorite matcha and hojicha place! Very cozy comforting modern tea room vibe. Welcoming and friendly staff and very delicious affordable matcha and hojicha. They also have some musubi and egg sando snacks from sushi restaurant upstairs for a light snack to go very well eith your drink. Strongly recommend their matcha AND hojicha. SO shocking how such a great quality drinks are so affordable. Their matcha softserve is a great refreshing dessert also!
