The espresso counter Rose City Park needed

Rose City Park had gone without a coffee spot for a while, and Mayger Coffee filled that gap on NE Broadway. It's a straightforward espresso program with pastries, built for people who live nearby rather than travelers hunting a destination cafe.

The space is small, more counter than seating, so don't plan on lingering. Order a cortado and a pastry and keep moving.

Don't let the size deceive you! This cute little coffee shop is great in all regards -- food, service, atmosphere. I stopped in for breakfast today, had a basic mocha and slice of quiche. The quiche was amazing--very creamy and delicious, with great flavor. I don't come to Portland often, but plan to make it a regular stop.

Mayger Coffee has a quiet yet welcoming atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a peaceful, laid-back vibe that's perfect for a relaxing morning cup of coffee. Their coffee is excellent, and the in-house pastries are fresh and delicious. A wonderful hidden local gem that I'll definitely be returning to!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden little neighborhood coffee shop. You can tell they really care and are trying to make this little part of Portland a better place. If you want a spot where the baristas know your name, has locals only, great coffee and scones this is the spot. Good music too. This is the type of coffee shop that makes Portland so lovely

I’m just smitten with this coffee shop. When that spot went vacant all I envisioned was a coffee shop opening up there and my dream came true! Not only did it come true, it came with really good coffee. They only have two food items besides pastries at the moment. But they are still settling in. I had the salmon on rye, with the cucumber salad it was delicious.

Best Lavender Latte I’ve had in a while. Quick pop in on my break. Had 5 minutes to walk there from the office, 5 minutes to get the latte and five to get back to the office. Perfect! The service was pleasant, quick and efficient. The latte is divine! Locally made lavender and it is right on target. It’s a simple cafe. I was very pleased at how clean the space is. She even gets locally made donuts on Wednesdays. Looking forward to trying them on my next visit. What are you waiting for? Go! Enjoy!
