A wine bar named after a thirteenth-century Persian poet

Rumi opened at 2937 Lincoln Avenue in North Park in July 2025, after its owner waited ten years to open it. She named the bar for the poet, taken with his idea of being drunk on the joy of life rather than on anything poured from a bottle.

It's her first food-and-drink project. The goal is a room a block off the noise of 30th Street where you can actually hear the person across the table. Small pours, quiet room, no televisions.

My wish came true... a cozy wine spot in North Park! It reminds me of a place you would find in Paris. The wine was delish and its the perfect atmosphere to meet up with 1 - 2 friends for convo and wine.

This place is so cute! They have all kinds of wine and the music is very pleasant. It’s perfect for a date night. They just don’t really have food, so not a place to go in super hungry. The owner is also a sweetheart.

We stopped in on a recent trip to SD from NY and stayed for hours! This is the perfect wine bar you have been looking for! One of the most thoughtfully curated wine lists I have seen in a long time. Really exciting varietals and wines from under represented areas like Mexico and Lebanon while still highlighting the classics from CA, Italy and France. A great place to try something new in what feels like a friend’s living room. The owners are beyond lovely and what make the community great! This can’t be missed!

Been wanting to check this place out and finally did! Went in solo on a Saturday evening around 4pm. Sat at the bar. Was greeted by multiple employees welcoming me in. Wine selection is definitely interesting with wines from all over with a focus on central California / Santa Barbara area. Not complaining as I love those wines. I tried a couple different reds, both fantastic. It was nearly full at all the tables including outside, nice place to hang or read a book. It did get very loud from one particular group as people do the more you drink haha. Unfortunate part is no public wifi and back by the bar where I was had very little service FYI. Overall will be back! Employees were all so welcoming and kind, environment is cute and cozy. Reasonable prices too.
