Asian dining that turns into a night out

Eat early if you want to hear the person across the table. Later it's the Fifth Avenue crowd and the volume that comes with it, and the kitchen keeps sending food out regardless.

AKA opened in the Gaslamp in October 2024 at 611 Fifth Avenue, a restaurant that gets louder as the night goes until it lands somewhere close to a club.

Loved our dinner at AKA. The happy hour specials are wonderful! We had the waygu potstickers, rock shrimp tempura(huge!), pork bao (delish)! The cocktails were amazing too! And cherry on top was the excellent service provided by Martin! Highly recommend!

First of all, the moment we walk in, the layout and environment was beautiful and astonishing. The Buddha statue is cool and the painting was also pretty. Also there was a DJ which makes it even better. Anyways service was great and although they do charge for water which I’ve never seen before, the food was amazing. The sushi rolls and fried rice was delicious and the rest was great too. I would come back but would probably just try to not drink too much water.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner last night here at AKA. The atmosphere is unique and outside patio seating is very relaxing. We enjoyed non alcoholic sippers with an appetizer followed by delicious entrees

My fiancé and I came here for a date night and the experience was fabulous! Martin was our waiter and his service was exceptional, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was great! Modern, good music, classy!

Had a wonderful experience at AKA San Diego. The service from the entire staff was outstanding from the moment we arrived. Everyone was attentive, professional, and made us feel truly welcomed throughout the evening. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, and the steaks were cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and quality. You can really tell they take pride in both their food and customer service. Thank you to the amazing staff for such a great dining experience.
