Peruvian cooking near the ballpark, open since May 2026
Casa Sofia opened at Second and Townsend in May 2026, four blocks from Oracle Park in the part of South Beach that runs on the baseball calendar. The kitchen is Peruvian, ceviche and the rest of the coastal repertoire.
San Francisco has a long-standing Peruvian population but relatively few restaurants serving it outside the Excelsior and down the peninsula. The location bets on the crowd walking to the game, which makes the non-game evenings the better time to eat properly.

Delicious food. Ceviche was fresh and spicy, octopus was very tender, and so were halibut tacos. Lomo saltado had the most tender meat. Arroz de mariscos was also very flavorful. The only thing I did not like were the donuts for desert. It was sprinkled with lavender and this is probably not my thing. Our waiter, Max, was very helpful and made us feel welcome.

Phenomenal food, beautiful interior, everything about this place made me want to come back. Definitely try the crullers, these warm lavender donuts were to die for.

Loved everything about my experience here at Casa Sofia. Amazing service, delicious food (my pork chop was phenomenal), and beautiful ambiance. They were absolutely wonderful with our little 10-month old in the stroller and I was able to have an amazing birthday celebration here. Thanks Casa Sofia, will definitely be back soon!!

What an awesome new dining experience in South Beach! The room is beautiful and airy with a playful yet sophisticated color palette. Food and drink were really spot on, which is impressive given how new Casa Sofia is. We had a couple of delightful Cachaça drinks and went the small plates route: stone fruit salad, shrimp cocktail, smoked tuna tartare, grilled octopus, and crab toast. Everything was delicious, flavors were vibrant and creative. The staff were warm and welcoming. There is a sense of bar staff still getting into a flow in their new environment, but that’s to be expected. We will be back and I definitely recommend.

Everything here was exceptional — the food and the service equally. The waitstaff were genuinely proud of what they were serving, attentive, and helpful throughout. The ribeye was unbelievable, but honestly everything on the menu is that good. Can’t recommend this place enough
