Dominican and Ethiopian cooking on the same menu, since February 2025

Meski opened on Larkin at Post in February 2025, on the lower Nob Hill blocks, and puts Dominican and Ethiopian cooking on one menu. The combination comes from the family running it rather than a concept meeting.

There is nothing else like it in the city, and very little Dominican food in San Francisco at all. The room is small and the pace is slow, so it is a poor choice if you are trying to eat in forty minutes.

Delicious and innovative dishes! Loved everything we ordered. The pollo guisado sambusas and the steak tibs pintxos were highly recommend, our waitress said that people come just for those dishes and I see why! The main entrees were also great and very easy to share. Got the arroz con pollo, the oxtail gemelli and Meski platter. The atmosphere is very cool and sexy, would be a great date spot or a fun group dinner.

This place was absolutely delicious! We ordered the Tips de Maduros, and it was our absolute favorite the meat was incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend it. The Sambusa was another standout, with well-seasoned meat and a light, delicious sauce that complemented it perfectly. We also tried the Arroz con Pollo and the Chicken Curry, and both dishes were cooked beautifully and full of flavor. Also we took bidibidi bambam and it's was very spicy and good. The service was top-notch from start to finish. The quality of the food and overall experience made it well worth the price. The restaurant has a beautiful, elevated atmosphere with stylish decor.It’s also a great spot for a date night. We’ll definitely be coming back. We walked in but I would recommend reservation before coming.

10/10 across the board! 🔥 From the moment we walked in, the vibe was everything. The atmosphere, the aesthetic, the music…it all just came together perfectly. Literally every single thing we ordered was SO good, and the drinks did not miss! The service made the experience even better. Huge shoutout to Mardi for taking such great care of us! The staff was so friendly, attentive, and made sure our table always had everything we needed. If you’re looking for the perfect spot for a girls night, date night, or just a fun night out, this is it. Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing vibes. We’ll 100% be back!

Meski is one of those places that gets everything right. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm, and full of personality. The food is absolutely amazing, full of flavor and very well executed, and the drinks are just as impressive. A perfect spot in San Francisco for a great night out with friends or a special dinner. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to.

GREAT date-night spot. The food is incredibly flavorful and filling despite portions being decently sized. They do a good job bringing Ethiopian and Dominican cuisine together. Delicious meal. The space is good too. Two levels and two bars inside, good spacing and ambiance all around.
