Ebiko Sushi

A Montgomery Street sushi counter built for the downtown lunch hour
Ebiko opened on Montgomery Street in June 2026, a few doors from the Montgomery BART entrance and squarely inside the part of the Financial District that empties out by seven. A sushi counter here lives or dies on lunch.
Downtown San Francisco has been losing restaurants rather than gaining them since 2020, so a new sushi opening on this block is worth noting on its own. Come before noon or after one; the middle of the lunch hour is when the whole street queues at once.

I went on a Wednesday around 2:47PM and honestly I was scared they’d be sold out already but thankfully they still had sushi left They had a few sushi rolls, tofu, tuna bowls, and seared salmon… which was perfect because that’s exactly what I came for. It was $12.50 for 5 pieces of seared salmon. I’ve definitely seen cheaper in Seattle, but for downtown SF? honestly not bad at all The salmon was buttery, soft, and actually pretty good quality. I don’t think one order is enough to fully fill you up but honestly maybe that’s the perfect kind of lunch before the afternoon slump

Finally checked out Ebiko in SF after seeing it all over my feed. I’ve been wanting to try this place forever because the photos look so yum and I finally had a chance to stop by. The store was totally packed with a super long line, seems like a lot of people come here for a quick lunch. I just went with the classic combo that everyone seems to get: the Omakase nigiri ($16.99) and the seared salmon aburi ($12.50). I will say, the box looks really pretty and is definitely instagrammable, and the sushi tasted fresh but that’s basically it. Honestly nothing was too standout or impressive about the flavors. It’s also not even that cheap for the price and the portion you get, so I feel like the hype is mostly just because of the look. Would I go back? Maybe if I’m in the area, but I wouldn't wait in that line again.

This is my 2nd time ordering via DoorDash and I have to say, their sushi is very fresh and delicious! The salmon aburi might actually be my favorite. It’s seared to perfection and is butter in your mouth. Their omakase is pretty high up there too. And the prices are very decent! Solid sushi at an affordable price.

Fresh sushi great for a lunch meal. The line is usually coming out the door so it is great to order using the online portal. Highly recommend.

Perfect quick sushi pick up. Gives real soy sauce good price for the quality. Hamachi roll contained hint of green onion and the side order of the salmon roe complemented everything perfectly.
